Let’s Go To School By Visiting The Morning Newspaper

This ad caught my attention this morning and I thought of the Inner-Circle.

How easy is it to borrow a thought from something that catches your eye and give it a creative “twist?”  And if by chance you are not getting my point, that is “your” photo in the box.  The ad ia about how you can contribute to a “fantastic” experience .. with just a little editing.

HEADLINE:

These 4 Things Happen Right Before You Take a Lousy Vacation.

1. You do a Google Search and “guess” which link looks good.

2. You get caught up in the pretty pictures on an unknown website.

3. You cast your fate to the digital winds of chance.

4. You perform 1,2 and 3 without the guidance of a professional travel advisor.

As a result, you spend a lot of money on a less-than-satisfactory expereince while asking yourself — “WHAT JUST HAPPENED?”

The good news is that this “nightmare” does not have to happen.

I digress.

The lesson is that you can capture all sorts of good ideas from your daily readings.

Homework: Create a “swipe-file.”  This is an area in your office where you can cut, tear, borrow or steal good ideas as they enter your world. When you are ready to put a promotion together, all you have to do is go to your “swipe-file” and all the creative ideas will be there waiting for you.
