Sales Lesson #27: Look People In The Eye, And Tell Them What You Think!
Maybe it is time for a little chutzpah. Let’s cast a vote of confidence in your direction and begin telling a few people the truth … exactly what they need to hear.
If you don’t believe in you, why should I believe in you.
Start showing your belief by telling me that you are the best choice.
If you feel you are the right service provider for the job, or the right candidate for the position, it is your responsibility to make this perfectly clear.
Look the person you are speaking with, or meeting with, right in the eye, and tell them what you believe to be true.
Too few “correct” candidates do this for reasons that are perfectly human. (1) Too shy; (2) Too polite; (3) Too scared; (4) Too timid – or is that too shy?; (5) Or, they don’t believe it themselves.
If it is true, that you are the best choice given the set of circumstances, then say so. You have absolutely NOTHING to lose.
