Why do you think that all major strenuous sports activities have breaks? They don’t call them “breaks” but that is exactly what they are. Baseball players break every three outs. Football players have half times. Basketball players also have a half time. Hockey players need even more rest as they have periods. Tennis players sit down every once in a while to wipe their brows and to take a swig of Gator Aid.
It is for this exact reason why the idea of a vacation was introduced to the people. I suppose you can toss in the weekend under this concept as well. Eight hours of sleep and an occasional power nap also qualify as some form of break.
Are you getting the picture?
Well, the Marketing Minute is coming off of its half time as we are now staring at Minute #27 in a 52-week series. We just returned from New Orleans and our creative batteries are once again juiced.
What will come to be in the next 26 weeks is anybody’s guess but one thing is for sure. Together, you, me and Hertz are going to throw all caution to the wind and have ourselves one heck of a second half.
We (you) are going to meet more people, make more happen and close more deals. (And I use the term “close” loosely here. Quite frankly, I abhor the term.)
But in order to make this happen, you and I have to get better at our communication. I want more of you to talk to me. Tell me what you want to know, need to hear, would like to discuss.
Our motto for the second half is going to be “COLLABORATION“.
Heavy on the collaboration.
So, my good friends, the second half of the best year of our life is now under way. The ball is in your court. Keep those emails coming. firstname.lastname@example.org
Once I get my notes together, I will begin sharing what we accomplished in New Orleans. Stay tuned.
