Sales Lesson #26: Be Very Careful When Communicating With Emails

Emails are just too easy to write and send to have them serve as position busters.

Haste makes waste when it comes to the SEND BUTTON.

Slow down. Acknowledge the email as the opportunity it is, and then put a little more thought into your communication.

This alone will position you far ahead of your competition.

Rule #1: Always begin every email with the recipient’s name. That is spelled A-L-W-A-Y-S.

Rule #2: Appreciate the fact that due to the ease of dispatch, an email can leave your desk half-baked and can actually hurt your cause.

Take an extra moment to personalize your message and to insert a little of your unique personality into your message.

This simple advice will serve you well … for years.
